Visit to Babylon Teaching Hospital (Children's Genetic Blood Diseases Center) on World Children's Day

In order to achieve the slogan "Towards a Sustainable University", the Department of Anesthesia Techniques and in order to achieve the third goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (Good Health and Well-Being), the Department of Anesthesia held a visit to Babylon Teaching Hospital (Children's Genetic Blood Diseases Center) on Sunday morning, 12/1/2024, on the International Children's Day, within the framework of achieving the third goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (Good Health and Well-Being) and in order to serve the community. The visit focused on providing moral and material support to thalassemia children and on enhancing the culture of their families and providing them with the necessary information about thalassemia, as it is a genetic disorder that occurs to blood cells, in which the percentage of hemoglobin (the main component of red blood cells and the carrier of oxygen) decreases below the normal rate, and accordingly, the level of oxygen in the blood decreases and is also called (Mediterranean anemia); because the origin of the disease was in the Mediterranean basin. The visit was made by a number of students from the Department of Anesthesia Techniques and under the supervision of a number of professors, namely: Dr. Amasee Falah Jabbar<br />Md.
