As part of their efforts to promote sustainable development in rural areas, the Sustainability Ambassadors team at the College of Science / Department of Intelligent Medical Systems organized their third visit to Nabi Suliman Mixed School in Al-Kifl district. This visit is part of their ongoing case study titled "Promoting Sustainable Development in Iraqi Rural Areas Through Technology and Educational Training Programs."<br /><br />The visit was attended by Dr. Maytham Nabil Muqdad, Chair of the Department of Intelligent Medical Systems, Engineer Ali Salem Haleem, Sustainability Unit Officer, and Engineer Riam Thaer Ahmed, Head of the Forensic Sciences Department. During the visit, surveys were conducted with teachers and students to analyze the educational situation, identify challenges and basic needs, and explore opportunities to improve education quality through the use of technology and specialized training programs.<br /><br />This initiative aims to support sustainable development goals by enhancing Goal 4 (Quality Education) in rural areas, contributing to Goal 1 (No Poverty) by improving learning and training opportunities that open the door to a better economic future. It also strives to promote Goal 5 (Gender Equality) by providing equal educational opportunities and contributing to local economic growth by equipping youth with skills that meet labor market demands. Additionally, the initiative helps reduce inequalities between urban and rural areas and contributes to achieving Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by improving the quality of life in these regions.<br /><br />These efforts reflect the college's commitment to implementing sustainable development goals through education and technology, strengthening the principle of community collaboration and partnerships to achieve effective sustainable development. The Sustainability Ambassadors team continues to work on similar initiatives to support rural communities, contributing to a comprehensive educational vision for building a more sustainable future.<br />Al-Mustaqbal University – the first university in Iraq.
