Sustainability Ambassadors Organize a Field Visit: Investigating the Impact of Smart Devices on Children's Mental Health at Al-Mudarya School

As part of efforts to raise awareness about the impact of technology on children's mental health, a team of students from the Department of Systems (Sustainability Ambassadors) visited Al-Mudarya Mixed School to complete the requirements for their case study. The school staff warmly welcomed the team, providing an opportunity to explore the school environment and observe students' behaviors amidst the rapid digital transformations.<br /><br />The activity was led by Mr. Ali Sleem Hleem, the activity coordinator, along with Dr. Mietham Nabil Maqdad, the department's secretary, and Dr. Mahdi Abadi Maan, the head of the department overseeing the activity. A comprehensive explanation was provided about the study's objectives and its significance in highlighting the challenges posed by the excessive use of smart devices on children's mental health.<br /><br />To collect data and analyze the phenomenon, questionnaires were distributed to students, allowing the team to gather valuable information that contributes to a deeper understanding of how technology impacts mental health and identifying the influencing factors. Students also participated in interactive discussions and workshops, reflecting the school's commitment to providing a supportive learning and development environment.<br /><br />This initiative embodies the spirit of sustainable development by linking it to several key goals, including the goal related to good health and well-being (Goal 3), which aims to ensure a healthy environment conducive to growth, and the goal related to quality education (Goal 4), which focuses on empowering students and developing their abilities to address the challenges of the digital age.
