As part of enhancing academic understanding of contemporary global issues in the field of communications, the Department of Communication Engineering Technologies organized a scientific workshop titled "Global Internet Governance: Between the Free Flow of Information and Legal Regulation." The workshop discussed the balance between individuals' right to freely access information and the need for legal regulation to ensure security and protect rights. It highlighted the challenges faced by governments and institutions in regulating the internet without infringing on users' fundamental rights, as well as the role of international organizations in establishing a regulatory framework for this vital sector.<br /><br />The workshop also reviewed the role of international organizations and governments in setting regulatory frameworks for the internet to protect privacy and ensure cybersecurity, while simultaneously maintaining freedom of expression and the flow of information. It provided an opportunity to exchange views and ideas on how to address this complex issue in both legal and technical contexts.
