The Sustainability Ambassadors at the College of Science, Department of Intelligent Medical Systems, carried out an important project titled "Measuring Water Levels to Protect Agricultural Fields." This project was presented by the instructor, Assistant Professor Qusay Munir Diab, Head of the Quality Unit in the Department of Intelligent Medical Systems, in collaboration with third-year students Aliya Saleh and Banan Abbas Aliwi.

The project involved using advanced technologies to measure water levels in agricultural lands to improve irrigation sustainability and conserve water resources. Through the application of smart systems, the project aimed to determine the precise amount of water needed for each agricultural area, helping to protect crops and reduce water wastage.
The project for measuring water levels to protect agricultural fields contributes to achieving several sustainable development goals, including:
Zero Hunger (Goal 2):
By improving water resource management, the project helps ensure efficient irrigation of crops, increasing agricultural productivity and reducing food shortages.
Clean Water and Sanitation (Goal 6):
The project promotes the optimal use of water and prevents waste, enhancing water resource sustainability and ensuring its availability for longer periods.
Climate Action (Goal 13):
By monitoring water levels and reducing excessive use, the project helps mitigate the risks of drought and floods, which are exacerbated by climate change.

The project highlights the importance of the interaction between intelligent medical systems and environmental technologies, and how these systems can be applied in agriculture to enhance crop productivity and protect it from the negative effects of water scarcity. This initiative is part of the department's efforts to enhance scientific knowledge among students and develop innovative technological solutions to contemporary environmental challenges.

Almustaqbal University, the first university in Iraq.
