Al-Mustaqbal University (Women Affairs Department) organized, in collaboration with the Women Affairs Unit at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, an outstanding workshop titled "Empowering Girls in Information and Communication Technology." This event was held in cooperation with the committee responsible for implementing the National Strategy for Iraqi Women, as part of the implementation of the pillar on participation and institutional reform (Paragraph 3). The workshop was supervised by Prof. Dr. Sahira Qahtan Abdul Jabbar and followed up by the Head of the Women Affairs Unit in the department, Ms. Amal Abbas Obeid.

The workshop witnessed notable attendance from Associate Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abdul, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (https://uofm.edu.iq/colleges/2), Dr. Haidar Jabar Abdul Nassar Al-Janabi, Head of the Department of Communication Engineering, and Prof. Dr. Sawan Obeid Wahid, Director of the Energy Research Center. The workshop also saw participation from the Department of Communication Engineering and the Department of Chemical Engineering, in addition to the Babel Governorate Diwan / Projects Department.

Ms. Suhair Akram Raji from the Babel Governorate Diwan gave a lecture titled "Photovoltaic Energy Applications in Control and Protection Systems for DC Motors." She reviewed the importance of relying on photovoltaic energy to operate BLDC motors, allowing these motors to function independently from the traditional electrical grid. This contributes to enhancing energy sustainability and reducing dependence on non-renewable sources. She also discussed the use of the hybridized fuzzy PI controller (PSO-hybridized fuzzy PI controller) to improve the performance and reliability of BLDC motors by precisely controlling speed and current.

The workshop also featured another lecture presented by Engineer Danya Tariq from the Department of Chemical Engineering at Al-Mustaqbal University, titled "Renewable Energy and Artificial Intelligence: Toward a More Sustainable Future." The lecture addressed the importance of transitioning to renewable energy sources, such as solar, wind, and water energy, and the role of artificial intelligence in improving their efficiency. Applications of AI were discussed, including weather pattern analysis, smart grid management, and enhancing energy storage, which contribute to stabilizing supply and reducing waste.

In his speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology praised the efforts in organizing the workshop, emphasizing the importance of scientific collaboration between Al-Mustaqbal University and academic institutions to foster creativity and innovation. He also highlighted the importance of supporting women in technical fields, empowering them to actively contribute to the development of the information and communication technology sector.

This workshop is part of a series of activities organized by Al-Mustaqbal University (https://uofm.edu.iq/) to empower women in engineering and technical disciplines, encourage innovation, and promote their active participation in building a more sustainable future.
