In alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, Al-Mustaqbal University – College of Health and Medical Technologies – Department of Industrial Kidney Technology organized a workshop on blood typing on January 14, 2025. The workshop was supervised and delivered by the department’s rapporteur, Assistant Lecturer Zainab Ali Mohsen.<br />The workshop addressed several key topics. The first focused on explaining the different blood groups, the importance of knowing one’s blood type, and the potential risks associated with blood transfusions without proper blood group matching. It also highlighted the significance of blood typing for couples planning to marry, as blood group compatibility can affect fetal health and pregnancy outcomes.<br />The second part of the workshop provided hands-on training for students on how to determine blood type using specific reagents.
