On the occasion of the International Day for the Prevention of Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism, the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies / Department of Construction and Building Technologies Engineering organized a workshop titled "Causes of Extremism and Ways to Combat It." The workshop aimed to shed light on the factors leading to extremism and propose appropriate solutions to address them.<br /><br />The workshop covered several key topics, including the concept and forms of extremism, as well as the intellectual, social, and economic causes contributing to its spread. Additionally, it highlighted the role of educational and societal institutions in combating extremism, with a focus on prevention strategies and promoting community awareness.<br /><br />The event was attended by a number of professors, researchers, and students, featuring productive discussions on ways to enhance values of tolerance and moderation in society. The workshop concluded with recommendations emphasizing the need to intensify awareness efforts and strengthen the role of academic institutions in promoting a culture of dialogue and intellectual openness.
