Duha Abdul Amir Muhammad), organized a scientific workshop on (Smoking and Heart Diseases: How to Prevent and Treat) This scientific workshop focuses on:<br /><br />How to prevent heart diseases due to smoking:<br /><br />Quitting smoking:<br /><br />Quitting smoking is the first and most important step in preventing heart diseases. Quitting helps improve blood flow, reduce harmful cholesterol levels, and reduce stress on the heart.<br /><br />Treatments such as gum or nicotine patches can be used, or a doctor can be consulted to help you quit.<br /><br />Follow a healthy diet:<br /><br />Eating foods rich in fiber (such as vegetables, fruits, and whole grains) helps reduce harmful cholesterol levels.<br /><br />Stay away from saturated fats, and limit the intake of processed foods.<br /><br />Exercise regularly:<br />Exercise helps strengthen the heart and improve blood circulation, which contributes to the prevention of heart diseases.<br /><br />Stress management:<br /><br />Stress and psychological pressure can negatively affect the heart. Techniques such as meditation and deep breathing can help control stress.<br /><br />Monitor blood pressure and cholesterol levels:<br /><br />Check your cholesterol and blood pressure levels regularly, and adjust them if necessary.<br /><br />Treatment for heart disease caused by smoking:<br /><br />Medication:<br />Doctors may prescribe medications such as cholesterol-lowering drugs (such as statins) or blood pressure medications to help control factors that increase the risk of heart disease.<br /><br />Medical procedures:<br /><br />In advanced cases, medical procedures such as stent placement or heart surgery may be required to improve blood flow to the heart.<br /><br />Psychological support:<br /><br />Psychological support and behavioral therapy may be necessary for people who have psychological problems or find it difficult to quit smoking.<br /><br />Ultimately, prevention is key, and quitting smoking can have a significant positive impact on heart health and reduce the risk of heart disease.<br /><br />Al-Mustaqbal University, the first university in Iraq
