Sustainable Innovation: Designing and manufacturing a 3D-Printed Prosthetic Limb

With determination and perseverance to achieve the ninth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals, the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics at the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies at Al-Mustaqbal University, under the direct supervision of the Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Mamouri, has achieved a remarkable milestone. The department has actively encouraged students to engage in manufacturing and innovation to equip its laboratory with the latest technologies. <br /><br />In this context, the sustainability team, consisting of the department lecturer, M.M. Muntadher Saleh Mahdi, along with engineers Aya Talib Hassan and Hadeer Hussam Hashem, and second-year students, successfully designed and manufactured a prosthetic limb using 3D printing technology. They generously donated it to the department’s laboratory, enhancing its educational and research capabilities and supporting the development of students' practical skills. <br /><br />This achievement reflects the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics' commitment to sustainable development through innovation and creativity in the field of prosthetic technology.
