Sustainability Ambassadors at the College of Science – Smart Medical Systems Department Organize a Training Workshop on Home Health Strategies for a Better Life<br />The Sustainability Ambassadors team at the College of Science – Smart Medical Systems Department organized a training workshop titled "Home Health Strategies for a Better Life." The workshop aimed to raise awareness about the importance of adopting healthy and sustainable lifestyles within households, contributing to improved quality of life and reducing health risks associated with the home environment.<br /><br />The workshop was supervised by the department’s activities coordinator, Assistant Lecturer Ali Salim Halim, and activities member Mr. Ahib Hashem Karim. It covered key topics, including the importance of daily healthy habits, methods for disease prevention at home, and the role of sustainability in enhancing public health through environmentally responsible practices that positively impact individuals and society.<br /><br />The workshop highlighted several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) closely related to home health, primarily Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), emphasizing the significance of a healthy home environment, proper nutrition, physical activity, and adequate ventilation in reducing chronic diseases and improving quality of life. Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) was also discussed, focusing on the importance of ensuring access to safe drinking water and maintaining personal hygiene standards to enhance public health and reduce the spread of infectious diseases at home.<br /><br />Additionally, the workshop explored Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by highlighting ways to create a sustainable home environment through waste reduction, resource conservation, and the use of eco-friendly materials, contributing to healthier and more sustainable communities. Another key focus was Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), emphasizing the role of individuals in adopting responsible consumption patterns, such as reducing food waste and using environmentally friendly products, ultimately reducing negative environmental impacts and promoting home health.<br /><br />At the conclusion of the workshop, the organizers stressed the importance of raising awareness about home health and its role in improving quality of life. They encouraged the adoption of sustainable household practices to balance health and environmental well-being, promoting a healthy and sustainable lifestyle to ensure the long-term welfare of individuals and society.<br /><br />Almustaqbal University The First University in Iraq.
