According to the directives of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, Dean of Al-Mustaqbal University College, the academic at the Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineering Dept., Ms. Hawra Kadhim Tayih has developed a refrigeration system operated by solar energy.<br /><br />The project aims to improve the efficiency of the refrigeration system and minimize the consumption amount of electricity by heating the gas that leaves the compressor on its way to the superheated condenser. <br />The results obtained have showed that the new system reduces the electricity consumption with amount ranging between 10-15 percent, and an increase in efficiency between 08 – 12 percent when compared to an ordinary system.<br /><br />Assist. Prof. Dr. Azher M. Abed has clarified that the College & the Department’s plans mainly focus on reinforcing sustainable energy projects, which intend to curtail energy consumption, forwarding it meanwhile to fields that require development, such as industry, air pollution and climate change.<br /><br />Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, Dean of Al-Mustaqbal University College has appreciated the efforts exerted by the Department as well as the academic in question. This project indeed is considered a distinguished achievement that shall raise the qualitative level of scientific research for the College and the Department. <br /><br /><br /><br />
