The Department of Chemical Engineering and Oil Industries organised a student seminar entitled “Environmental Displacement” for second stage students, prepared by teaching M. M. Abrar Falah Naji. The symposium dealt with the concept of environmental displacement as one of the global challenges resulting from climate change, natural disasters and industrial pollution, highlighting its economic, social and environmental impacts. During the symposium, they reviewed the most prominent factors leading to environmental displacement, such as desertification, sea level rise and pollution from industrial activities, in addition to discussing sustainable solutions that can be adopted to reduce this phenomenon.

The seminar witnessed a distinctive interaction from students, where questions and discussions were asked that enriched the topic and contributed to enhancing understanding of the importance of the role of chemical engineers in finding environmentally friendly solutions that reduce the impact of environmental displacement. This event is part of the scientific activities of the department, which aims to enhance students' awareness of environmental issues and the role of chemical engineering in addressing them.
