A scientific workshop entitled “Violent Extremism: Its Methods and Its Harms on Society.”

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Furat Hamza Abd Kadhim, the esteemed Dean of the College of Sciences, the Department of Medical Physics Sciences held a scientific workshop under the guidance of Professor M.M. Ali Jaafar Obaid, entitled “Violent Extremism: Its Methods and Its Harm to Society.” A group of faculty members from the department—Dr. Ferial Ibrahim Jabbar, M.M. Ali Salman Hamadi, Mariam Latif Shandal, M.M. Sakina Talib Khair Allah, M.M. Al-Shaima Firas Mohammed Reda Najm, Amir Sobhi Ismail, and Ali Moueid Ali—participated in the workshop, which demonstrated innovative theoretical insights.<br /><br />The workshop discussed the effects of violence on the health of the determined woman and the causes of violent extremism, including economic factors as well as social and political harms. Professor M.M. Ali Jaafar Obaid explained the role of the media in confronting violent extremism, along with the role of the family and society in preventing it, and highlighted the most prominent strategies for combating violent extremism. Dr. Ferial and Professor Ali Salman also clarified some of the methods used by extremist groups to recruit as many people as possible, outlining ways to counter these tactics.<br /><br />In conclusion, the professors stressed the importance of continuing such valuable scientific activities that inspire both students and faculty to be even more creative, wishing the staff of the Department of Medical Physics and its students continued creativity and excellence.<br /><br />"AL_mustaqbal University is the first university in Iraq"
