Al-Mustaqbal University, in collaboration with the Women's Affairs Unit at the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies, organized an outstanding awareness lecture titled "The Impact of Telecommunications on Society" as part of the implementation of the Institutional Participation and Reform Pillar (Item 3). The event was supervised by Professor Dr. Sahira Qahtan Abdul-Jabbar and followed up by the head of the Women's Affairs Unit in the department, Mrs. Amal Abbas Obeid.<br /><br />The Department of Communication Engineering Technologies organized the awareness lecture titled "The Impact of Telecommunications on Society," delivered by Engineer Rafeef Samir.<br /><br />The lecture addressed the significant and diverse impact of telecommunications on society. On the positive side, telecommunications contribute to speeding up the exchange of information and facilitating communication between individuals and different communities, enhancing public awareness and facilitating social and economic coordination. They also contribute to promoting education, raising awareness, and spreading cultures and ideas.<br /><br />On the negative side, telecommunications can lead to the spread of misinformation, enhance social isolation due to excessive reliance on technology, and affect privacy. Overall, the impact of telecommunications depends on how they are used and regulated within society.
