The Intelligent Medical Systems Department at the College of Science organized an awareness and humanitarian campaign to distribute food baskets to needy families during the holy month of Ramadan. This initiative was overseen by the department head, Professor Dr. Mahdi Abadi, and the department’s coordinator, Dr. Maytham Nabil Muqdad, with the participation of the department's academic and administrative staff.<br />The campaign aimed to promote social solidarity and assist families in need during the holy month, with several food baskets containing essential items distributed to ensure the basic needs of the beneficiary families were met.<br />The campaign contributed to achieving several sustainable development goals, most notably ending hunger, by providing healthy and balanced food to the needy families, which helped reduce hunger and improve food security for the less fortunate.<br />Furthermore, the campaign played a role in promoting good health and well-being, as it provided essential food items that support better nutrition and general health, raising awareness about the importance of a balanced, healthy diet.<br />In addition, the initiative helped reduce inequalities by supporting disadvantaged families and enhancing social justice, contributing to narrowing the economic gap between different societal groups and promoting social solidarity.<br />The organizers emphasized that this initiative is part of the department’s social responsibility, highlighting the importance of strengthening values of cooperation and community involvement, especially during the month of Ramadan, which represents an occasion for compassion and solidarity among community members.<br />The beneficiaries warmly welcomed the initiative, expressing their gratitude and appreciation for this humanitarian effort that alleviated their living burdens.<br /><br />Al-Mustaqbal University The first University in Iraq.
