Electronic nose" technology relies on artificial intelligence and chemical sensors to analyze body odors, enabling early detection of many diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and liver diseases. This technology is based on understanding chemical changes in volatile organic compounds emitted by the body, as studies have shown that each disease causes a specific pattern of chemical compounds in breath, sweat, or urine.

The major advantage of the electronic nose is its ability to detect diseases quickly and with higher accuracy than some traditional tests. It provides a non-invasive and easy-to-use method for early detection of chronic diseases, such as early-stage cancer, making it an effective tool for prevention. This technology presents a potential alternative to costly and painful tests, particularly in diagnosing diseases that require continuous monitoring, such as respiratory diseases.

Despite these benefits, this technology faces some challenges that require further research and development. First, electronic noses need to improve their accuracy and ensure reliability through large-scale studies before they can be widely adopted in healthcare institutions. Additionally, these devices require thorough testing to verify their ability to detect a wide range of diseases using diverse odor patterns.

With continued advancements in artificial intelligence and sensor technology, electronic noses are expected to become a key part of future diagnostic tools. In the near future, this technology may be the solution for early disease detection at a stage where treatment is more effective.

Al-Mustaqbal University is the first University in Iraq.
