Based on the vision of the Department of Communications Engineering Technologies at Al-Mustaqbal University College to enhance the role of modern technologies in serving communities, and under the direct and supportive supervision of the esteemed Head of Department, Professor Haider Al-Janabi, a team of Sustainability Ambassadors, accompanied by a group of distinguished students from the department, carried out a field visit to the village of Sinjar in Babil Governorate. The visit aimed to conduct a case study titled: “The Role of Advanced Communication Technologies in Promoting Sustainable Development in Remote Areas.”<br /><br />This visit reflected the deep humanitarian and scientific commitment embraced by the department. A scientific field questionnaire was carefully designed to include various segments of the local community. The results were clear and direct: the region is in urgent need of such technological and developmental initiatives that enhance the quality of life and reduce the gap between urban and rural areas through smart and sustainable communication solutions.<br /><br />This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly: • Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure<br />• Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities<br />• Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities<br />• Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals<br /><br />This fieldwork is overseen by Professor Haider Al-Janabi, who spares no effort in supporting students and faculty in all endeavors that elevate the department both scientifically and socially. He is truly regarded as an inspiring academic and humanitarian leader, and a strong supporter of every purposeful development initiative.<br /><br />Special recognition is also given to the outstanding leadership and active role of the innovative engineer, Assistant Lecturer Tamam Ali Abdul Abbas Al-Abidi, whose presence and insightful thinking have proven him to be not only an exceptional academic researcher, but also a symbol of generosity, teamwork, and scientific collaboration in the field.<br /><br />Also taking part in this remarkable initiative were: • The brilliant engineer Rafeef Sameer, who demonstrated a high sense of social responsibility.<br />• The creative programmer Ghufran Alaa, who contributed significantly to data collection and analysis using advanced scientific methods.<br /><br />The Sustainability Ambassadors in the department serve as a model in integrating knowledge with action, technology with humanity, and vision with implementation.<br /><br />Al-Mustaqbal University: The First in Iraq
