This study examines visual pollution in Babil Governorate and its impact on the environment and the city's overall appearance. Visual pollution manifests in several forms, such as annoying billboards, electric poles, informal residential neighborhoods, uneven building appearances, wrecked cars on the roads, and widespread waste, especially around the Shatt al-Hillah River and in public places. These phenomena distort the city's visual beauty, negatively impacting the quality of life in affected areas. The study aims to identify the causes and problems of visual pollution, activate the role of government departments and municipalities in improving the overall appearance, and focus on the role of society in maintaining the city's cleanliness and sustainability. The results indicate that visual pollution is widespread on public roads, manifested in billboards, waste, and uneven buildings, giving the city an unsightly appearance. The study recommends a detailed study and analysis of the situation, and the activation of municipal services to eliminate these phenomena and improve the city's aesthetic image.

Al Mustaqbal University is the first university in Iraq.
