Global warming is one of the biggest environmental challenges facing the world today. It is caused by increased greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide and methane, in the atmosphere, leading to a rise in global temperatures. This change not only affects climate but also human health, particularly respiratory health.
As temperatures rise, air pollution levels increase, especially surface ozone, which is formed by the interaction between sunlight and vehicle and industrial waste. This type of pollution causes respiratory irritation and increases asthma attacks, especially in children and the elderly.

Global warming also leads to increased dust and sandstorms in some areas, and longer-than-usual pollen proliferation, causing respiratory allergies and problems such as rhinitis and sinusitis.

The impact is not limited to chronic respiratory diseases; rising temperatures also increase the risk of contracting infectious respiratory diseases due to weakened immunity and changing environmental conditions that facilitate the spread of viruses and bacteria.
How can we deal with the threat?
Reducing car use and relying on clean transportation.
Planting trees because they absorb carbon dioxide and purify the air.
Rationalizing electricity and water use to reduce factory emissions.
Educating people about ways to prevent air pollution, especially in the summer.
Conclusion:
Global warming is not just a climate problem; it is a health issue that directly affects human life. To preserve the health of our respiratory system, we must all cooperate to reduce the causes of this danger and work to protect our environment by all possible means.)

Al _ Mustaqbal University, the first university in Iraq
Prepared by: Shahad Nawras Abbas
