In alignment with the ninth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and under the patronage of the Head of the Department of Building and Construction Engineering Techniques, Dr. Mayada Waheed Falah, and the supervision of Asst. Lec. Kawthar Hussein Shaalan,

In an effort to enhance practical skills and bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world engineering applications, the students of the Department of Building and Construction Engineering Techniques at the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies – Al-Mustaqbal University,
successfully completed an innovative project involving the design and construction of a model for a sustainable bridge that integrates structural principles with environmental considerations.

The project aimed to:
Apply sustainability concepts in engineering design.

Use recyclable materials within the structural model.

Highlight engineering solutions that contribute to reducing the environmental impact of infrastructure.

This project stands as a practical example of the department’s academic orientation toward sustainable engineering, while encouraging students to embrace innovation and teamwork.

Faculty members praised the students’ dedication and precision in execution, affirming that such projects contribute to preparing a new generation of engineers capable of meeting future challenges with competence and creativity.

Al-Mustaqbal University – The First University in Iraq
