Concrete specifications for high-rise buildings exposed to earthquakes

In alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and under the supervision of the Head of the Department of Construction and Building Technologies Engineering, Dr. Mayada Waheed Falah, the department organized a technical workshop focusing on the uses and specifications of concrete in high-rise buildings exposed to earthquakes.<br /><br />The workshop was conducted by Lecturer Aqeel Abdul Hassan Hussein from the Department of Construction and Building Technologies Engineering, with the attendance of several faculty members from the department.<br /><br />The session addressed key topics related to concrete specifications that help reduce the impact of seismic activity on high-rise structures, including design methods, appropriate code selection, and sustainable material usage. The workshop directly supports Sustainable Development Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, by promoting smart and resilient construction practices that optimize resources and enhance structural safety.<br /><br />Al-Mustaqbal University – The First University in Iraq
