The English Language Department – College of Education at Al-Mustaqbal University concluded its student football championship with a special ceremony that included the distribution of medals and awards to participating teams and distinguished players, all in a festive atmosphere that reflected the spirit of sportsmanship and student collaboration.<br />At the end of the tournament, the championship-winning team (C1) was honored with gold medals and the championship cup in recognition of their outstanding performance throughout the matches, while the runner-up team (D1) received silver medals in appreciation of their strong effort and sportsmanlike conduct.<br />Individual awards were also presented to the most outstanding players in the tournament, including:<br />• Best Goalkeeper, who received a trophy for his exceptional saves and defensive impact.<br />• Best Player of the Tournament, recognized with a performance trophy for his remarkable skills and influence on the field.<br />• Top Scorer, awarded a trophy for his impressive offensive play and highest goal tally in the competition.<br />The ceremony was attended by a number of faculty members and students, who expressed their joy at the tournament's success and praised the atmosphere of fair competition and teamwork that prevailed throughout the games.<br />This initiative reflects the university’s continued commitment to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically:<br />• Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being – by promoting physical activities that enhance students’ physical and mental well-being.<br />• Goal 4: Quality Education – by encouraging essential life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and discipline.<br />• Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions – by instilling values of fair play and respect within the university community.<br />The College of Education affirms that such events are not merely sports competitions, but powerful educational tools that help shape a generation of students who are intellectually and physically balanced, and well-equipped to face academic and professional challenges.<br />Al-Mustaqbal University – The First University in Iraq.<br />
