The daily use of smart devices such as computers and smartphones has become an integral part of both professional and recreational life. However, excessive screen time negatively impacts eye health and contributes to a variety of visual problems, most notably Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS), also known as digital eye strain. This condition manifests through symptoms such as dry eyes, temporary blurred vision, headaches, neck and shoulder pain, and a burning or irritated sensation in the eyes. Prolonged exposure to blue light emitted from screens can disrupt sleep patterns by suppressing melatonin production and may increase the risk of retinal degeneration over time. Additionally, decreased blinking during device use leads to faster tear evaporation and dryness, especially in air-conditioned environments.
