The smartphone has become a distinguished medical tool thanks to health applications that allow users to monitor their condition around the clock. These applications, developed through programming, utilize the phone’s built-in sensors or wearable devices such as smartwatches.

Through programming, applications can be designed to measure heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and track physical activity, then transmit this data to intelligent analysis systems. These systems, in turn, employ machine learning algorithms to compare the current readings with the user’s previous records or with data from other patients.

Programming also enables these applications to connect to cloud servers for secure data storage and to send alerts to doctors or family members in case of any concerning changes. Languages such as Java, Swift, and Kotlin are essential for developing these applications, while machine learning libraries are used to enhance the accuracy of the analyses.

These applications empower individuals to monitor their health proactively and respond quickly to any potential medical issues, making them an effective tool for reducing complications and improving the quality of daily life.

Al-Mustaqbal University – The First University in Iraq
