Electricity theft is a widespread issue that directly impacts national economies and the safety of electrical networks. It often occurs when individuals or entities tamper with electric meters or perform illegal connections to the grid in order to consume power without payment.

In this context, circuit analysis plays a crucial role in uncovering such crimes. Through detailed examination, experts can:

Determine whether a meter has been tampered with, either by modifying its internal components or altering its wiring.

Identify discrepancies between actual power consumption and the readings recorded by the meters.

Detect unauthorized connections to the main power grid.

The findings from such investigations serve as technical forensic evidence that can be used in court to prove cases of electricity theft. Thus, integrating engineering expertise with forensic investigation strengthens justice and safeguards national resources.
Al-Mustaqbal University – The First University in Iraq
