As part of the College of Health and Medical Technologies at Al-MustaqbaI University’s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals—particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being—the Department of Prosthetic Technologies organized an awareness campaign on the occasion of World Organ Donation Day. The campaign targeted several rural and urban areas across Babel Governorate, including Al-Rarnachiyah, Ibrahim Al-Khalil, and the city center of Al-Hilla. The campaign was held under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Zahraa Haleem Al-Qayyem, and was implemented by Assistant Lecturer Zainab Ali Mohsen, the department’s rapporteur, and Assistant Professor Dr. Muslim Mohammed Mousa, with the active participation of a group of students from the department. The students played an essential role in spreading awareness about organ donation through the distribution of educational leaflets and conducting field dialogues with citizens to correct misconceptions and promote health awareness. The campaign highlighted organ donation as a noble humanitarian act that reflects the values of mercy and generosity promoted by Islamic teachings, which emphasize the importance of saving lives and helping others, based on the Holy Verse: “And whoever saves one life—it is as if he had saved all of mankind.” [Al-Ma’idah: 32] This initiative represents part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s ongoing efforts to serve the community and promote public health awareness while reinforcing the principles of human solidarity and social responsibility. It aligns with the university’s pioneering mission to support national and humanitarian initiatives that contribute to building a healthy and cohesive society.
