Women’s Affairs Division Organizes a Seminar Entitled “Women and Media: Partnership in Shaping the Future” in Cooperation with the Department of Media

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Department of Media at the College of Arts and Humanities, organized a seminar entitled “Women and Media: Partnership in Shaping the Future and Empowering the Female Voice”, with the attendance of several faculty members and students. The seminar’s topics were presented by Asst. Lecturer Sarah Hakim, Asst. Lecturer Mais Mohammed Qasim, and Asst. Lecturer Sara Qasim Anad, while the event hosted Dr. Zahra Al-Jubouri, a member of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate Council, who provided an insightful perspective on the pioneering role of women in the contemporary media landscape and the importance of empowering them in media production and decision-making processes. The seminar highlighted the importance of strengthening the partnership between women and media institutions in building a responsible developmental discourse that contributes to shaping a more inclusive and equitable future. It also discussed the main challenges faced by female journalists and media professionals in various work environments. The event was attended by Dr. Maytham Al-Suwaidi, Assistant Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities, and Prof. Dr. Akram Faraj Al-Rubaie, Head of the Department of Media, who both praised the seminar’s content and its role in enhancing societal awareness of women’s vital role as active partners in development and change.
