Fuel and Energy Technology Students at the College of Engineering Technology – Al-Mustaqbal University Design a Model Demonstrating Refinery Operation within the Sustainability Camp Students from the Department of Fuel and Energy Technologies at the College of Engineering Technology – Al-Mustaqbal University participated in designing an educational model that illustrates the operation of an oil refinery, as part of the Sustainability Camp activities aimed at promoting creativity, innovation, and practical application of sustainable development principles in energy and environmental fields. The project was designed and implemented by Abdullah Ali Saleh, a second-year student, under the supervision of Lecturer Zahraa Salah Hadi and Engineer Mohammed Rafi’ Khudair. The model aims to simplify the concept of refinery operations for students and visitors by presenting the refining stages in an interactive and scientific way that reflects real industrial processes. This initiative aligns with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including: Goal 4: Quality Education – by enhancing applied learning and academic innovation. Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy – by promoting awareness of sustainable energy technologies. Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure – by encouraging students to develop innovative engineering projects that support sustainability. Al-Mustaqbal University, the First in Iraq.
