Workshop Title: Using Artificial Intelligence for Disease Prediction and Early Diagnosis Presented by: Asst. Lecturer Abdullah Nofal Al-Quraishi In pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education Early disease detection has become a cornerstone in improving treatment outcomes, reducing healthcare costs, and enhancing the quality of medical care. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine/Deep Learning are among the most advanced tools now utilized in the healthcare sector to analyze massive medical datasets and uncover patterns that may not be easily or quickly identified by physicians. This workshop aims to familiarize participants with how AI technologies can be employed to predict health risks and detect diseases at early stages, thereby enhancing their knowledge and skills in this vital field. Workshop Objectives: To introduce participants to the fundamental concepts and techniques of Artificial Intelligence, particularly its applications in the medical field — including Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and the analysis of medical images and patient data. To explore current AI applications in disease prediction (such as cancer, heart disease, and diabetes) and discuss the challenges faced in implementing these technologies. To provide practical experience or hands-on exercises that enable participants to design a prototype model or analyze medical data for prediction and early diagnosis purposes.
