Lecturer Noora Fawzi conducted an awareness activity titled “Differences Between Building Materials and Their Impact on the Carbon Footprint.” The activity focused on explaining the distinctions between traditional and sustainable construction materials in terms of environmental impact and efficiency of use. Students were introduced to the concept of the carbon footprint, its importance in reducing emissions, and its role in achieving sustainability in the construction sector. The session also discussed low-carbon alternatives that enhance the sustainability of future building projects, along with practical examples illustrating how to select environmentally friendly materials in modern engineering designs.
