The Department of Building and Construction Engineering Technologies organized a training workshop titled “Occupational Safety and Firefighting” with the participation of the department’s academic and administrative staff and in the presence of several officers from the Civil Defense Directorate. The workshop aimed to raise awareness about occupational safety procedures and accident prevention in the workplace, as well as to train participants on firefighting techniques and the proper use of fire extinguishing equipment. The practical part of the workshop included field demonstrations supervised by the Civil Defense officers, who explained the types of fires, control methods, and emergency evacuation plans to ensure the safety of individuals and facilities. The workshop concluded with an appreciation ceremony honoring the Civil Defense representatives for their efforts in promoting a culture of safety within the university campus.
