The Department of Art Education at the College of Fine Arts held a workshop titled "Domestic Violence and Ways to Address It", presented by lecturers M.M. Hussein Lotfi and Dr. Asrar Abbas Samandar. The workshop was part of the department’s efforts to support the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 16, which focuses on peace, justice, and strong institutions. The workshop discussed the manifestations of domestic violence, its social, psychological, and economic causes, and presented effective prevention and intervention strategies, emphasizing the role of families, educational institutions, and civil society in reducing this phenomenon. It aimed to raise community awareness about the importance of building a safe and stable family and institutional environment, linking the concepts of peace and justice to strengthening societal institutions, while helping participants develop the skills needed to address family issues responsibly and constructively.
