Department of Art Education Holds an Awareness Workshop on Domestic Violence and Ways to Reduce It

The College of Fine Arts – Department of Art Education held an awareness workshop titled “Domestic Violence: Its Causes and Treatment,” presented by lecturer Asst. Inst. Hussein Lotfi Hussein, with the aim of raising community awareness and highlighting the seriousness of domestic violence and its negative impact on family stability and social cohesion. During the workshop, the presenter discussed the main causes of domestic violence, including psychological and economic pressures, lack of cultural awareness, and the misuse of authority within the family. He also reviewed its psychological and behavioral effects on victims. In addition, he addressed treatment and intervention methods, such as early intervention, victim support, strengthening the role of educational and social institutions, and promoting a culture of dialogue within the family. This workshop comes as part of the department’s ongoing activities in support of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being, by focusing on mental health and enhancing social well-being Almustaqbal University, The First University in Iraq
