Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, the President of Future University, the university announced the successful completion of the lecture dedicated to the Fifth Batch of the "Smart Environment" course. The online lecture recently concluded with outstanding success and saw widespread participation from all university affiliates. This course is a crucial component of the approved training curriculum aimed at enhancing awareness and knowledge of the latest technologies and applications that serve the concept of environmental sustainability and digital transformation, with direct supervision from the College of Science and the College of Engineering.
The valuable lecture was delivered by Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Muhanna, a highly specialized and leading scientific expert in this field. Dr. Al-Muhanna provided a comprehensive and detailed presentation on the mechanisms for applying advanced technology in addressing environmental issues. The lecture was executed successfully online, which facilitated the attendance and participation of the maximum number of Future University affiliates without geographical constraints. The session recorded a dense and active attendance from the teaching, administrative, and technical staff across all colleges and departments, reflecting the growing interest in the importance of smart technology and environmental sustainability.
The lecture covered fundamental themes focusing on integrating advanced technology to achieve environmental sustainability. The highlights included mechanisms for applying remote sensing techniques and Internet of Things (IoT) systems for highly efficient environmental resource monitoring and management. Furthermore, the session reviewed the latest smart solutions for rationalizing energy and water consumption within university buildings, realizing the goal of a Smart and Sustainable Campus, and the role of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence in analyzing environmental change patterns and making proactive decisions. The lecture featured extensive scientific discussions and an exchange of expertise between the lecturer and the audience, with inquiries and interventions significantly enriching the course content. Concluding the event, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, the University President, emphasized the importance of continuing these courses to refine the skills of affiliates and develop their research and administrative capabilities in modern specializations that serve the requirements of sustainable development and the Iraqi job market.
