Under the patronage of the College of Engineering, an online workshop was held via Google Meet titled: “Requirements of Modern Wind Power Plants in Iraq”, presented by Assist. Prof. Dr. Firas Thair Al-Maliky on Thursday, 13/11/2025, at 11:30 AM. The workshop highlighted the key technical and operational requirements of wind power plants, as well as the challenges facing the integration of this type of renewable energy within the Iraqi environment. The speaker also reviewed the latest global technologies used in modern wind power systems. In addition, Dr. Al-Maliky discussed investment opportunities in wind energy in Iraq and the role of modern infrastructure in supporting clean energy projects, emphasizing the importance of applying quality and safety standards to achieve high efficiency and long-term sustainability. The workshop witnessed active participation from students and faculty members who raised several questions related to design mechanisms, turbine efficiency, and the feasibility of implementing wind energy projects across various Iraqi provinces. At the end of the session, Dr. Al-Maliky thanked the attendees and stressed the importance of integrating renewable energies into Iraq’s future development plans for the energy sector.
