Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Education, and in collaboration between the Department of English in the College of Education and the Department of English in the College of Arts, an awareness play titled “The Dangers of Drug Abuse and Its Impact on Individuals and Society” was performed.
The play was prepared and directed by Asst. Lecturer Baraa Star and Asst. Lecturer Iltafaat Al-Aloy, with the attendance of the deans, faculty members, and a number of students.
The play aimed to highlight the health, social, and psychological risks of drug abuse, delivering impactful educational messages that encourage students to avoid this harmful phenomenon. The scenes depicted the behavioral deviations resulting from substance abuse and its destructive effects on youth, family stability, and future prospects.
The performance received strong interaction and praise from the audience, who commended the students’ acting, the clarity of the message, and the importance of such initiatives in supporting national efforts to reduce drug abuse and raise societal awareness.
This activity is part of a series of joint programs between the two colleges, aiming to promote behavioral and health awareness and to reinforce the values of sustainability in building a conscious and responsible generation.
