Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Asst. Prof. Dr. Furat Hamza Al-Sultani, and in accordance with the directives issued by the Presidency of Al-Mustaqbal University to enhance community awareness and hold educational seminars and workshops on the dangers of addiction and drug abuse, The Department of Medical Biotechnology organized an awareness scientific seminar entitled: “The Negative Effects of Drug Abuse on the Individual and Society.” The seminar was presented by Colonel Mohammed Mardan Mohammed from the National Security Directorate, and supervised by the Activities and Sustainability Officer, Lect. Saja Jawad Ubaid. The seminar highlighted the health and social harms resulting from drug abuse, emphasizing the importance of raising awareness within the university community and encouraging students to contribute to promoting a culture of prevention. The event concluded with a discussion session between the lecturer and participants to answer the raised questions, stressing the importance of adopting continuous awareness programs that help protect youth from this dangerous phenomenon. This activity comes as part of a series of scientific events organized by the Department of Medical Biotechnology in support of the university’s vision to enhance health awareness and positive behavior among students.
