Awareness Campaign in the Medical Physics Department, College of Science, on Sleep Deprivation and Its Consequences within the Framework of Health Sustainability

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdy, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Asst. Prof. Dr. Furat Hamza Al-Sultani, and the guidance of the Head of the Department of Medical Physics, Dr. Anis Ali, an awareness campaign titled “Sleep Deprivation and Its Consequences” was held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. The campaign was led by the Head of the Medical Physics Department, Dr. Anis Ali, lecturer Asst. Lecturer Lubna Ali, Ms. Noor Firas Mohammed Redha, and Ms. Noor Al-Huda Ahmed Kazem, with active participation from the students of the Medical Physics Department. The campaign aimed to raise awareness about the importance of healthy sleep, highlighting the negative physical and psychological effects of sleep deprivation, such as decreased concentration, reduced academic performance, memory issues, and long-term health consequences affecting immunity and overall well-being. Interactive educational stations and short workshops were presented to guide students on improving sleep quality and adopting healthier daily routines. In line with the university’s commitment to promoting health sustainability, the campaign emphasized the role of adequate sleep as a key component of a sustainable lifestyle that enhances student productivity, reduces stress, and supports long-term physical and mental stability. Supervisors praised the students’ engagement and participation, reaffirming the university’s dedication to "AL_mustaqbal University is the first university in Iraq"
