The Department of Anesthesia Technologies at the College of Health and Medical Technologies organized a special awareness activity featuring informational posters and awareness panels on anesthesia and narcotics, under the supervision of Mr. Ali Qasim Jawad, as part of the college’s Anti-Drug Week aimed at promoting health awareness among students and the university community.
The activity included a collection of awareness panels presented by the department, which students viewed to learn about the scientific information they contained regarding medical anesthesia and the dangers of narcotic substances.
The activity featured two main posters:
• “Do Not Soothe the Pain Only to Awaken the Disease” – addressing the correct and safe use of anesthetic drugs and clarifying the difference between proper medical anesthesia and harmful narcotic substances.
• “The Impact of Drug Abuse on the Body’s Response to Treatment” – highlighting how drug abuse affects the effectiveness of medical treatment and the body’s ability to respond to medications and therapeutic procedures.
This activity comes as part of the department’s efforts to promote health awareness and support national initiatives aimed at combating drug abuse by providing accurate scientific information and encouraging preventive behaviors on campus.
The event received strong engagement from students and visitors, who praised the importance of such activities in enhancing health awareness and educating the community about the risks of drug use.
