The Media Department organized a specialized seminar titled “Duties of the Media Officer in State Institutions,” attended by a group of the department’s students as part of its academic activities aimed at enhancing students’ professional knowledge.
The seminar was conducted by Assistant Lecturer Sabah Al-Askari and Assistant Professor Dr. Hamza Ubaiss Abd Al-Sada. The department also hosted Dr. Abdul-Kadhim Mohammed Uswid, who delivered a detailed presentation highlighting the vital role played by media officers in government institutions, emphasizing the importance of showcasing the institution’s activities and conveying accurate information to the public.
During his talk, Dr. Uswid stressed the necessity of providing precise and reliable information, as it contributes to enhancing transparency and reflects the developments taking place within the institution. He also pointed out that official media is not limited to reporting news; rather, it serves as a communication bridge between the institution and society, helping build trust and clarify facts.
The seminar witnessed remarkable engagement from the students, who showed great interest in the ideas and concepts presented. They participated with questions and comments that enriched the discussion and added a practical dimension reflecting their future professional aspirations.
It is worth noting that the Media Department is keen on organizing such seminars regularly to raise students’ awareness and provide them with insights that help them understand the realities of media work, preparing them to enter the profession with competence and confidence.
