Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdy, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Asst. Prof. Dr. Furat Hamza Al-Sultani, and the guidance of the Head of the Department of Medical Physics, Dr. Anis Ali, an awareness campaign titled “Smoking and Its Harmful Effects” was held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. The campaign was conducted by Asst. Lecturer Lubna Ali, Ms. Noor Firas Mohammed Redha, and Ms. Noor Al-Huda Ahmed Kazem, with active participation from students of the Medical Physics Department. The campaign aimed to educate students about the dangers of smoking, highlighting its harmful impact on the respiratory system, cardiovascular health, and overall well-being. The event also addressed the psychological aspects of smoking, its social consequences, and practical strategies to support smoking cessation and reduce tobacco use. In alignment with the university’s commitment to health sustainability, the campaign emphasized the importance of maintaining a smoke-free campus environment, reducing pollutants caused by smoking, and promoting healthy behaviors that enhance the long-term well-being of individuals and the community. Supervisors praised the strong engagement of students and affirmed the university’s ongoing efforts to organize educational initiatives that enhance health awareness and social responsibility.
