The Media Department at Future University organized a celebration on the occasion of World Television Day, under the patronage and in the presence of the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, with the participation of a group of faculty members and students.
The event included a speech delivered on behalf of the University Presidency by Prof. Dr. Muzafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, who highlighted the vital role of television in shaping public awareness, preserving national memory, and supporting the educational and cultural mission of academic institutions. The celebration also featured the screening of documentary films produced by faculty and students of the department, shedding light on the history of television in Iraq, in addition to a film documenting the department’s academic and creative journey.
An exhibition was also inaugurated during the event, showcasing artifacts and photographs that chronicle the history of television, along with various publications issued by the department. The celebration was attended by the Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities, Prof. Dr. Hussein Waheed, the Head of the Media Department, Prof. Dr. Akram Faraj, as well as a number of faculty members and students.
This event comes as part of the university’s commitment to supporting media and academic activities and enhancing students’ understanding of the history of television and its essential role in serving society.
