The Accounting Department organized an online workshop titled "Educational Counseling in the University Environment", with the participation of a number of faculty members, aiming to enhance awareness of the importance of counseling in supporting students psychologically and academically within the university campus. The workshop was delivered by Lecturer: Asst. Instructor Sara Abdul-Ilah. The workshop discussed the concept of educational counseling and its role in creating a healthy university environment, as well as mechanisms for dealing with challenges that students may encounter during their academic journey, such as exam stress, time management, and adapting to academic and social changes. It also explained how counseling contributes to boosting self-confidence and guiding students to make sound decisions regarding their academic and professional future. The session witnessed noticeable interaction from participants through questions and discussions focusing on students’ experiences and the challenges they face, along with a set of recommendations that help promote the culture of counseling within the university and encourage students to seek support when needed. At the conclusion of the workshop, the instructor emphasized the importance of the educational counselor as an active element in the learning process, noting that university counseling serves as a bridge between the student and academic success. This workshop comes as part of a series of activities aimed at supporting students and creating an integrated university environment that contributes to the development of their personalities and career paths.
