The Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering held a discussion session for third-year students titled “Circular Economy in the Field of Prosthetics and Orthotics”, presented by Engineer Aya Talib Hassan. The session addressed the concept of the circular economy and its role in promoting sustainability through reuse, waste reduction, and improved resource efficiency, with a focus on how these principles can be applied in the design and manufacturing of prosthetic and orthotic devices. Students were also given the opportunity to engage in discussion, exchange ideas, and ask questions about innovative approaches that can contribute to developing more sustainable and higher-quality assistive products. The session witnessed notable interaction from the students, within an educational atmosphere that encourages creative thinking and links sustainability concepts to practical aspects of their specialization.
