The Anesthesia Technology Department held a scientific workshop titled “Medical Waste Disposal Methods”, presented by Dr. Mohammed Jassim Khalif. The workshop aimed to highlight modern methods for handling medical waste and safe disposal practices. The workshop addressed the health and environmental risks associated with poor medical waste management, in addition to reviewing international standards for sorting, collection, transport, and final disposal processes. It also emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of safe practices within healthcare institutions to protect both staff and the environment. This workshop aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by promoting safe healthcare practices and reducing health and environmental risks associated with medical waste, thereby contributing to the protection of the community and the environment.
