Under the patronage of the President of Almustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Furat Hamza Al-Sultani In a pioneering achievement that reflects the University's commitment to innovation in the service of sustainable development, and during the activities of the Almustaqbal Ambassadors for Sustainability Camp held today, Saturday, October 17, 2025, Almustaqbal University announced the results of the "AI Hackathon for Sustainable Development" (HACKATHON) competition. The event was held under the gracious patronage of the Governor of Babylon, Mr. Adnan Faihan Al-Dulaimi, and the direct supervision of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi. This competition aims to encourage university students to design innovative solutions based on Artificial Intelligence to address developmental challenges in vital fields, including those directly related to the specializations of the College of Science and the Medical Physics Department, such as: Health and Nutrition and Health Systems, Clean Energy, and Clean Water. The competition saw strong participation from 38 student teams, who competed to present qualitative ideas and projects that serve sustainable development, based on precise evaluation criteria focused on Sustainable Impact and AI Innovation. ✨ Competition Results and Honoring of Distinguished Participants The University Presidency announced the victory of ten teams in the five fields that qualified for the competition, namely: Clean Energy Smart Agriculture Clean Water Multi-purpose Applications Health and Nutrition Financial prizes, valued at one million Iraqi Dinars for each field, were distributed to the winning teams. AI applications in the fields of "Health and Nutrition" and "Clean Water" received special attention, as they represent a vital intersection with the applications of Medical and Environmental Physics. This pioneering experience reflects the University's commitment to supporting new generations to contribute to a promising future for our beloved nation through technological innovation. The Medical Physics Department reaffirms the importance of integrating AI tools into the core of modern scientific specializations. AL_mustaqbal University is the first university in Iraq.
