Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Law, Professor Dr. Ammar Abbas Al-Husseini, and as part of the College of Law’s activities on women’s rights, the College organized a panel discussion entitled: “Promoting Women’s Rights in Iraqi Law,” on Wednesday, 26/11/2025, in the college hall – Humanities Building. The seminar was delivered by Asst. Lecturer Mona Mohammed Kazem, a faculty member at the College of Law, who discussed the legal framework that ensures the protection of women’s rights within Iraqi legislation, highlighting the role of academic institutions in promoting legal awareness and empowering women within society. She also reviewed the key legal provisions that strengthen the status of women, along with awareness programs that help address violations and discrimination. The seminar further examined the major challenges facing women in legal and social environments and explored mechanisms for developing legislation in line with the requirements of justice and equality. At the conclusion of the seminar, the lecturer emphasized the importance of spreading legal awareness among students and encouraging discourse that supports women’s rights, contributing to the promotion of social justice and the preservation of human dignity.
