Al-Mustaqbal University celebrates its pioneering achievements by leading the first place in Iraqi in three international classifications Al-Mustaqbal University held an official ceremony on the occasion of the academic scene and the results it achieved, as the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, announced during the opening of the ceremony the achievement of the University of the Future ((first place)) at the level of Iraq within three prestigious international classifications, namely Times Ranking (Interdisciplinary Science Ranking), QS Sustainability Ranking and Times Ranking for Arab Universities. THE ARAB Universities Ranking In a special ceremony held in an official and popular presence, Mr. Governor of Babylon, Mr. Adnan Fayhan Al-Dulaimi, Mr. Asaad Al-Muslami, Chairman of the Babylon Provincial Council, and Prof. Dr. Shafiq Shaker Al-Mula, Chairman of the Scientific Research Commission, participated, in addition to a number of university presidents, assistants, deans, and representatives of public and private sector companies and institutions in Babylon Governorate. The attendees emphasized the status of the university and its leading role in enhancing the status of higher education and scientific research, paving the way for more achievements and continuous excellence. These achievements reflect the university's ability to compete and innovate, and double its reputation at the national and international levels, strengthening its position as one of the leading institutions in our dear Iraq. The celebration ceremony began with a speech delivered by Prof. Dr. Mozafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, who confirmed that the university continues to consolidate its international presence through its recent progress in three prominent international classifications, as it won the first place among private universities and the second place in Iraqi in the QS World Sustainability Ranking 2026. It also ranked first in Iraq in the Times Classification for Interdisciplinary Sciences (ISR 2026), in addition to achieving third place in Iraq and entering the category 101–125 Arabs in the Times Classification of Arab Universities. He pointed out that these achievements come as a result of a strategic vision based on supporting high-impact scientific research, strengthening governance, and directing research towards serving the community and achieving sustainable development goals. In the context of the ceremony, the Governor of Babylon, Mr. Adnan Fayhan Al-Dulaimi, delivered a speech in which he congratulated the university on what he described as “a qualitative leap recorded for the governorate and for higher education in Iraq,” stressing that the support of active institutions in scientific research represents a fundamental pillar of local development. The President of the Babylon Provincial Council expressed his pride in the achievements of the university, praising its role in providing the community with competencies and pioneering initiatives. The President of the Scientific Research Authority, Prof. Dr. Shafiq Shaker Al-Mula, praised the firm academic status of the university, giving a presentation on the mechanisms of linking scientific research and the industrial sector, and stressing that the Future University model represents a national path to improve the knowledge economy. After the official speeches, the honoring ceremony was launched, which included the presentation of commemorative shields to distinguished guests, in addition to honoring the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, with the Shield of Excellence from the Scientific Research Commission in appreciation of his efforts in supporting the university's research and institutional path. Professors, researchers and scientific and administrative cadres were also honored for their role in shaping the achievements of the university and consolidating its presence in international classifications. The ceremony concluded by emphasizing the continuation of the Future University in the path of excellence and innovation, and continuing its role as a leading academic statement that contributes to the future industry and the dissemination of knowledge and sustainable development solutions.
