Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Law, Prof. Dr. Ammar Abbas Al-Husseini, and as part of the College of Law’s activities aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of human trafficking, the College of Law organized a seminar titled: “Mechanisms for Combating Human Trafficking via the Internet”, held on Sunday, 30/11/2025, in the college hall – Humanities Building. The seminar was delivered by Dr. Ali Jasim Al-Saadi, a faculty member in the College of Law, who discussed the main methods and techniques through which the Internet is exploited in human trafficking crimes, as well as the legal mechanisms adopted to combat such crimes under national legislation and international conventions. He also highlighted the technical and legal challenges faced by security and educational institutions in detecting these violations, and the importance of strengthening digital awareness among various segments of society. The seminar also reviewed the most significant Iraqi and international legislative tools related to combating human trafficking through electronic means, and the mechanisms for implementing them within educational institutions, in addition to showcasing key modern practices that contribute to protecting vulnerable groups from the risks of cyberspace. At the conclusion of the seminar, the lecturer emphasized the necessity of adopting effective awareness programs that enhance digital legal culture and support efforts aimed at protecting society and reinforcing human security.
